Glüh Gin Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 liter of your favorite fruit juice (apple, orange, grapefruit, or a mix)
- Optional: Add 250ml water, if using 100% fruit juice, for a lighter style drink
- 1-2 sticks of cinnamon
- 3-4 cloves
- 3-4 cardamom pods
- 1 star anise
- Fresh ginger. Thumb size, sliced into chunks
- A double shot of Triple Three Gin to serve (We love the African botanicals for the spicy finish)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add spices to a pot and heat for about a minute.
- Add the juice (and optional water, if using) and bring to the boil.
- Add Spices: Add the muddled ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and cardamom pods to the pot.
- Simmer gently for about 20-30 minutes. The longer it cooks, the stronger the delicious winter spice will be.
- Be sure to keep an eye on the pot so it doesn't boil over...
TO SERVE:
- Strain the liquid into cups and simply add your gin to serve.
- Get creative with the garnish. Add a fruit slice on the rim of the glass or even stir with a cinnamon stick.
